Lakithra is
situated inland amid pinewoods and olive groves. The
ambience is warm and traditional, relaxing and is ideal
if you love mountains, the countryside and Greek culture,
which is pure. The village is located in the Southwest
of the island, approximately four miles south of Argostoli,
and two miles south of Lassi. Although the area is only minutes
from the airport it's peaceful scenery is very beautiful
with a lot of surrounding countryside of olive groves and
fields full of wild flowers. This gives you plenty of space
to explore and see some of Kefalonia's amazing scenery.
Villa
Mandola is situated in one of the most
beautiful villages of Kefalonia, Lakithra. This village
was the favourite
spot of Lord Byron. The Villa was built in April of 2009.
The architecture of the villa is typical of the Seven
Islands with an
influence
from the Venice domination era. The owners John and Mado
are a truly wonderful couple who have created a warm and
hospitable place for you to stay
in an ideal location to be able to explore this beautiful
island.
On the outskirts of the village a brief stretch of unmade
road leads to a new concrete road on your right to
the bottom of the hill - it
leads to Villa Jomar, which is the new
headquarters of Kefalonia
Animal Trust.
This registered Greek animal charity, dedicated
to caring for the welfare of the dogs, cats and other
animals of Kefalonia and Ithaca, founded by Pat & Dave
Dolman.
