Set in a very unspoiled part of Kefalonia, Petani very much resembles
Mirtos beach, with a curved bay and a beautiful clear deep blue
sea. The coastline here is not quite as rugged and dramatic, but
none of the less awe inspiring!
There are two ways of getting to Petani, the first is to take the
scenic coast road around the Gulf of Argostoli, heading towards
Athres Bay, there is a small turning on the left, as you approach
Petani there is a steep access road on the right, with the familiar
hairpin bends that is quite usual to access most beaches on this
island, alternatively take the ferry from
Argostoli to Lixouri, it is then
easy drive north to the curve in the gulf, take the Athres road,
etc. to Petani beach.
Either way, it is well worth the effort, as you will
be rewarded with sensational scenery.
